Variety Of Processed Snack Foods For Children, Adults And The  Elderly

 

Snacks or light meals are foods that can be eaten for all age groups. Snacks can fight stress, and provide happiness and entertainment for consumers. The ingredients and appearance of these snacks are different depending on the age of consumption. However, the adaptation of snacks is not only limited to the formula development through taste modifucation or the use of appropriate raw material but also should be considered appearance and convenience.

 

 

Snacks for Children

Health benefits are often the important reason that parents decide to purchase snacks for their children. Especially, snacks with a low amount of sugar, contain natural ingredients, vitamins, and minerals. 

 

Snacks for Adults

The snack product for teenagers has many types. Especially the extruded snack group which was one of the first three segments with the highest growth of 8.3%. For example, crispy potato chips are popular in Thailand. So new products have been developed and launched to meet teenagers between the ages of 13-19 years who are looking for products that provide delicious taste, novelty, and worth it at the same time. The highlight of  this crispy potato snack is its unique shape and variiety of flavors, such as the 3D shape for barbecue flavor, net shape for seaweed flavor, and seashell shape for oringinal and spicy squid flavors.

 

Snacks for the Elderly

The texture of elderly food must not be hard or too soft, can be swallowed easily, and has low sugar content. The important substance includes zinc for maintainning bone mass, selenium for immune system boosting, magnesium for blood pressure regulation, vitamin B 12 for the nervous system and cognitive performance, vitamin B6 for vitality promotion, and vitamin D3 for build and maintaining strong muscle mass.
